An update from BHP Group Ltd ( (AU:BHP) ) is now available.

BHP Group has appointed Brandon Craig as Chief Executive Officer and Director effective 1 July 2026, succeeding Mike Henry after a formal succession process and six and a half years of Henry’s leadership. Craig, currently President Americas, brings more than 25 years at BHP, having driven growth in copper and potash and improved performance at Western Australia Iron Ore, and will relocate to Melbourne under a remuneration package aligned with BHP’s incentive frameworks.

The transition caps a tenure in which Henry simplified BHP’s portfolio, exited petroleum, high-graded coal, pivoted toward copper and potash and established the company as the world’s largest copper producer while maintaining sector-leading iron ore margins and strong shareholder returns. His period in charge also saw a sharper focus on safety, operational excellence, emissions reduction and workforce diversity, leaving BHP with a robust growth pipeline and a strengthened platform for long-term value creation under Craig’s leadership.
