Beijing Enterprises Holdings Limited has established a Sustainability Committee under its board of directors to strengthen the group’s sustainability governance framework and decision‑making around environmental, social and governance matters. The committee will be composed of at least three directors, including at least one independent non‑executive director and at least one member with professional background in environment, social responsibility, corporate governance or sustainability management.
The new body is tasked with guiding and overseeing the development and implementation of the company’s sustainability system, reviewing strategy, targets and key plans, and supervising ESG performance across issues such as climate risk, emissions, resource use, labour rights, safety, supply chain and business ethics. By formalising these responsibilities and integrating them into board‑level processes, BEHL aims to improve ESG risk management, enhance disclosure quality and support the group’s long‑term, stable development and social responsibility performance.
