Banco Bilbao ( (BBVA) ) has issued an update.

BBVA reported an attributable profit of €10.5 billion for 2025, driven by strong growth in recurring income from net interest and fees and a 16.2% increase in customer credit at constant exchange rates. Risk metrics remained solid with a cost of risk at 1.39%, an NPL ratio of 2.7% and an 85% coverage ratio, while profitability and efficiency were robust, with ROTE at 19.3%, ROE at 18.4%, an efficiency ratio of 38.8% and tangible book value plus dividends up 12.8% versus December 2024. The bank also strengthened its capital position, closing the year with a CET1 ratio of 12.70%, comfortably above its regulatory requirement, and delivered record customer acquisition of 11.5 million in 2025, 66% of them through digital channels, underlining its digital strategy. In sustainable finance, BBVA channelled €134 billion in sustainable business in 2025, a 44% increase year-on-year, and set an ambitious 2025–2029 sustainable business channelling target of €700 billion, reinforcing its positioning as a leading bank in sustainable financing and signalling continued focus on ESG-linked growth.
