Barclays PLC has recently bought back and intends to cancel 5,693,575 of its own shares at a volume weighted average price of 219.1485p, as part of its ongoing share repurchase program announced earlier in August. This action will reduce the company’s issued share capital to 14,607,126,214 ordinary shares. Since the start of the buy-back initiative, Barclays has acquired a total of 115,973,833 shares.
