On September 22, 2025, the Bank of Montreal announced the issuance of US$2.25 billion in senior notes, comprising US$750 million of 4.062% Fixed/Floating Rate Senior Notes due 2028, US$1 billion of 4.350% Fixed/Floating Rate Senior Notes due 2031, and US$500 million of Floating Rate Notes due 2028. This issuance is part of a larger strategy to offer up to US$75 billion in securities, as registered with the SEC. The notes are considered valid and legally binding obligations of the bank, enhancing its capital and funding strategy. These financial instruments are expected to bolster the bank’s liquidity and operational capabilities, potentially impacting stakeholders by strengthening the bank’s market position.
