Avanza Bank Holding AB ( (SE:AZA) ) has shared an update.
Avanza reported record first-quarter results for 2026, with operating income up 9% to SEK 1,257 million and profit for the period rising 7% to SEK 754 million, driven mainly by higher net interest, brokerage, currency income and fund commissions despite increasing expenses. Customer numbers grew 8% year-on-year to 2.3 million, savings capital rose 15% to SEK 1,075 billion, and key profitability metrics such as operating margin and return on equity remained strong.
Strategically, the group is entering its next growth phase by selecting Denmark as the first step in its international expansion, planning an organic launch in the second half of 2027 with an initial investment of SEK 120–150 million, which is expected to impact costs but broaden its addressable market. Avanza also strengthened its capital base with a SEK 500 million Additional Tier 1 issue, refreshed its top management team and continued brand-building and educational initiatives, reinforcing its ambition to remain a leading savings platform in Sweden and evolve into a major European player.
The most recent analyst rating on (SE:AZA) stock is a Buy with a SEK500.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Avanza Bank Holding AB stock, see the SE:AZA Stock Forecast page.
