An update from Australian Rare Earths Limited ( (AU:AR3) ) is now available.
Australian Rare Earths has advanced its Koppamurra project by establishing a high-purity mixed rare earth oxide processing route that recovers 99.9% of rare earths from solution and targets a calcined product grade of about 98.6% REO plus yttrium oxide. Heap leach testwork doubled irrigation rates to cut leach times in half while maintaining roughly 70% recovery of magnet rare earths and similar levels for strategically important elements such as yttrium, gadolinium and samarium, supporting a lower-capex, lower-opex development path.
The company said the Koppamurra pre-feasibility study remains on track for release in late second quarter 2026, with pilot plant operations at ANSTO’s new continuous facility scheduled to start around the same time to process about 30 tonnes of clay for customer qualification. At its Overland uranium project, AR3 has secured regulatory approval for drilling at EL7079, defined two large sedimentary-hosted uranium target zones backed by historic core assays, and plans to recommence drilling in April 2026.
AR3’s cash balance stood at $6.66 million at 31 March 2026 after raising about $6 million via a placement, and it has further funding visibility through remaining government grant instalments and unlisted options that could be exercised. Management argues this strengthened balance sheet, combined with technical gains at Koppamurra and exploration momentum at Overland, gives the company capacity to pursue its near-term milestones and reinforce its positioning in critical minerals supply chains.
