ATCO and Shell Launch Carbon Storage Hub

Canadian Utilities A (TSE:CU) has released an update.

Canadian Utilities Limited’s subsidiary, ATCO EnPower, in partnership with Shell Canada, is set to commence the first phase of the Atlas Carbon Storage Hub, a significant advancement in Alberta’s commitment to reducing emissions and progressing in energy transition. The facility, poised to become operational by 2028, will serve the Alberta Industrial Heartland by offering carbon storage solutions to mitigate carbon tax liabilities and contribute to decarbonization efforts. This initiative not only showcases ATCO’s dedication to environmental stewardship but also its active role in the evolving landscape of energy solutions.
