The PREDICT study, officially titled “A Prospective, Multicenter Real-World Study to Describe the Clinical Outcome and Quality of Life in Chinese CRSwNP Patients,” tracks how Chinese patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps fare after sinus surgery. It aims to measure symptom control, daily life impact, and healthcare burden, giving investors insight into disease management trends in a key emerging market.
The main treatment reviewed is standard endoscopic sinus surgery, often called ESS, which is already routine care. The study does not test a new drug or device but instead follows patients after this surgery to see how well they recover and what care they need next.
This is an observational study, meaning doctors do not assign treatments but record what happens under normal practice. It is prospective, so patients are followed forward in time after their surgery, and there is no blinding or placebo, with the main goal to describe real-world outcomes and quality of life.
The study began recruitment after its first submission on 26 January 2026, marking the formal launch of the project in clinical databases. The latest update on 11 May 2026 confirms that the trial remains active and recruiting, with primary and final completion dates still ahead and detailed results yet to be reported.
For investors, this update signals AstraZeneca’s interest in building a stronger footprint in respiratory and inflammatory care in China, even though no new product is tested here. Findings on surgery outcomes and unmet needs could shape future launches of biologic drugs or devices, and may influence how AZN positions itself against rivals focused on chronic sinus and respiratory disorders.
The study is currently ongoing and updated, with further operational and scientific details available on the ClinicalTrials.gov portal.
