Jardine Cycle & Carriage’s subsidiary Astra faced a slight downturn in profits due to reduced car and motorcycle sales in a softer market, as well as lower coal prices affecting mining operations. However, the company benefitted from better performances in financial services, agribusiness, and infrastructure. Despite these mixed results, the company remains optimistic about resilience and maintaining leadership in its diverse portfolio for the rest of the year.
