Artisanal Spirits Company Holds FY26 Guidance as U.S. Push and Membership Growth Offset Europe Slowdown

Artisanal Spirits Company PLC ( (GB:ART) ) has issued an update.

Artisanal Spirits Company said trading for the year to 31 December 2026 is in line with expectations, with guidance unchanged as cask sales and revenue growth in Asia and the U.S. offset weaker demand in Europe. Membership recruitment at The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is up more than 20% in the first four months, with global membership just under 40,000 and retention around 70%, supported by limited-edition launches such as FIFA World Cup-themed bottlings, strong festival releases and the latest 50th Cask Club sherry-matured cask offering.

In the U.S., SMWS America has maintained the momentum seen late last year, delivering single-digit sales growth and more than 30% recruitment growth, while a completed route-to-market change is expected to enhance direct member engagement, support revenue and EBITDA, and generate about $1m of cost savings over three years. The shift to a depletion-based revenue recognition model, including a final £0.5m stock transition recognised in 2025, has now completed in line with expectations, while the company also announced governance changes as chair Mark Hunter steps down for health reasons and long-serving director Gavin Hewitt retires, with deputy chair Paul Skipworth assuming interim chair duties.

Chief executive Andrew Dane said the group has entered FY26 with positive momentum driven by a sharpened SMWS proposition, a stronger U.S. focus and early contributions from the Artisan Casks programme, emphasising that macroeconomic and geopolitical headwinds persist. He credited the outgoing chair and director with helping deliver more than 50% growth in revenue and membership since the IPO and said they leave the business in a strong position for future growth.

Spark’s Take on ART Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, ART is a Neutral.

The score is driven primarily by very weak financial performance (ongoing losses, consistently negative cash flow, rising leverage and shrinking equity), which elevates funding and balance-sheet risk. Technicals add a bearish tilt with price below key moving averages and negative MACD. Valuation is constrained by a negative P/E and no dividend support in the provided data.
