An announcement from Steer Technologies ( (TSE:ARGH) ) is now available.
Argo Corporation has renewed and expanded its Smart Routing transit agreement with the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury through the end of 2026, adding vehicle capacity after its on-demand system replaced the town’s previous fixed-route buses. The service has more than doubled average daily ridership within months of launch, driven a 5.5-fold increase in transfers to the Bradford GO Station, and provided broader coverage and wheelchair-accessible service for residents.
Despite the sharp rise in usage, Argo’s demand-responsive technology maintained a 100% booking acceptance rate and median wait times under 20 minutes, while the town kept its transit operating budget flat, implying a more than 50% reduction in cost per ride versus the prior system. Vehicle utilization has roughly doubled, rider satisfaction exceeds 90% 4- and 5-star ratings, and success in Bradford West Gwillimbury and under a separate $10.9 million Brampton contract underpins Argo’s strategy to win more municipal deployments and strengthen its position in the urban mobility market.
