An update from Aptiv ( (APTV) ) is now available.

On May 5, 2026, Aptiv reported first-quarter 2026 results showing U.S. GAAP revenue of $5.1 billion, up 5% year on year, with 1% growth on an adjusted basis, and net income of $189 million, or $0.88 per diluted share, compared with a loss a year earlier. Regional performance was mixed, with growth in North America, Asia Pacific and South America offset by a decline in EMEA, while adjusted EBITDA margin narrowed to 14.8% amid higher commodity costs and unfavorable currency, and free cash flow turned negative.

The quarter marked Aptiv’s strategic pivot following the April 1, 2026 spin-off of its Electrical Distribution Systems business into Versigent PLC, after which future reporting will exclude EDS and reflect “New Aptiv” under renamed Intelligent Systems and Engineered Components segments. The company used cash and proceeds from the Versigent distribution to redeem over $2.1 billion of senior notes, repurchased $75 million of shares, and issued second-quarter and full-year 2026 guidance for New Aptiv that targets higher margins and solid cash generation, underscoring a focus on a more asset-light, higher-margin portfolio and shareholder returns.

The most recent analyst rating on (APTV) stock is a Buy with a $84.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Aptiv stock, see the APTV Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on APTV Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, APTV is a Neutral.

The score is driven primarily by weakened profitability despite solid cash generation and manageable leverage. Technicals are also a headwind with the stock below key moving averages and negative MACD. Valuation is the biggest drag due to the very high P/E, while earnings-call guidance and capital-allocation plans (spin, debt paydown, buybacks) provide partial support despite near-term margin and cash-flow pressures.
