The latest announcement is out from AML3D Ltd ( (AU:AL3) ).

AML3D has delivered its first portable, containerised ARCEMY small edition metal 3D printing system to the U.S. Navy’s Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence in Danville, Virginia, operated by Austal USA, completing a roughly AU$1.2 million order and expanding Austal USA’s ARCEMY fleet at the facility to three systems. The container-mounted unit is designed for rapid redeployment, cutting reinstall times to as little as one to two days, and is expected to showcase the potential for forward, point-of-need deployment across multiple U.S. military branches, reinforcing AML3D’s role in reshaping defence supply chains and supporting the U.S. Navy’s broader maritime industrial base ambitions.

The successful installation underscores AML3D’s deepening partnership with Austal USA as both companies seek to transform traditional manufacturing and logistics models through deployable additive manufacturing capability. By demonstrating that ARCEMY systems can reliably produce components to U.S. military specifications with shorter lead times, AML3D strengthens its competitive position in defence-focused advanced manufacturing and aligns itself with long-term demand signalled by U.S. Navy plans to scale additive systems and parts production by 2030, with potential operational and supply-chain benefits for both shipbuilding and fleet sustainment stakeholders.
