American Water Works Secures $1.4 Billion in Senior Notes

American Water Works (AWK) has released an update.

American Water Capital Corp. has successfully issued $1.4 billion in senior notes, with maturity dates in 2034 and 2054, to fund its water and wastewater utilities, repay existing debts, and for other corporate expenses. The offering, underwritten by major financial institutions, closed with net proceeds of approximately $1.38 billion after underwriting discounts. This strategic financial move leverages support from American Water and enhances the company’s financial flexibility for future operations and growth.
