American Coastal Insurance ( (ACIC) ) has issued an announcement.

Effective June 1, 2026, American Coastal Insurance Corporation renewed and expanded its core catastrophe reinsurance program, increasing its aggregate occurrence-based limit to about $1.918 billion for the 2026/27 season, up 14.4% from the prior year. The company added $200 million in multi-year catastrophe bonds, enhanced cascading coverage to $435 million, and secured a multi-year 15% external quota share, while raising its estimated first-event limit to $1.68 billion and modestly increasing first and second event retentions as a share of equity.

All catastrophe perils, including National Hurricane Center-named windstorms, are covered under the renewed program, with American Coastal electing 90% coverage under the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund for the contract effective June 1, 2026. Despite the higher limits, the provisional cost of catastrophe excess-of-loss reinsurance, excluding the quota share, is projected at about $179.5 million, down roughly 11% from the prior year, and maximum reinstatement premium exposure is expected to fall sharply, suggesting improved capital efficiency and potentially more resilient protection for policyholders and shareholders.

The most recent analyst rating on (ACIC) stock is a Buy with a $14.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on American Coastal Insurance stock, see the ACIC Stock Forecast page.
