América Móvil is set to gain a controlling interest of approximately 91% in ClaroVTR, after Liberty Latin America opted not to exercise its right to match funding commitments, which will reduce its stake to around 9%. The transaction, which is pending approval from Chile’s National Economic Prosecutor’s Office, is anticipated to close in the third quarter of 2024, further consolidating América Móvil’s operations in the region.
