Altiplano Metals Inc. has announced the kickoff of mining operations at a new production level in the Farellon copper-gold mine in Chile, which is expected to bolster productivity and grade control by accessing higher-grade copper zones. The company aims to increase monthly production to 5,000 tonnes to supply the El Peñón processing facility, leveraging the new level to blend various grades of copper and iron. Despite the positive outlook, the company acknowledges the economic and technical risks as the decision to mine was made without a feasibility study on mineral reserves.
