Alstom SA Clinches €323M Italian Locomotive Deal

Alstom SA (FR:ALO) has released an update.

Alstom SA has secured a €323 million deal with Mercitalia Rail to deliver 70 Traxx Universal locomotives, which boast high energy efficiency and traction capacity, along with 12 years of maintenance. The contract, which includes an option for an additional 30 locomotives, will enhance Italy’s freight transport with some units featuring innovative last mile technology for seamless transition into non-electrified areas. This significant order will be fulfilled at Alstom’s Vado Ligure manufacturing site, bolstering local production expertise and employment.
