Almaden Minerals Seeks $200M in Mexico Arbitration

Almaden Minerals (TSE:AMM) has released an update.

Almaden Minerals Ltd. has announced its decision to seek arbitration against Mexico under the CPTPP after failing to amicably resolve an investment dispute with Mexican officials. The company, along with Almadex Minerals Ltd., plans to pursue at least US$200 million in damages for grievances including the voiding of mineral titles and refusal to issue an environmental permit by Mexican authorities. Almaden has instructed its Mexican counsel to withdraw all domestic legal actions to focus on the international arbitration process.
