Aker BP ASA, in partnership with PGNiG Upstream Norway AS, has secured a new CO2 storage licence, Atlas, near the Yggdrasil area in the Norwegian North Sea, where they already operate. With an 80% interest in the license, Aker BP will carry out a work program including reprocessing seismic data, geological studies, and a drill-or-drop decision within two years. This award complements Aker BP’s strategy to explore CO2 storage as a new business avenue and contribute to the decarbonization efforts in North-West Europe.
