Air New Zealand Faces Competitive Pressures

Air New Zealand Limited (ANZFF) has released an update.

Air New Zealand Limited reported a 2.5% drop in group capacity for May 2024, with long-haul flights seeing the most significant decrease. The company is facing intense competition, especially from US carriers on North American routes, which has led to a 12.8% decline in long-haul year-to-date revenue per available seat kilometer (RASK). Despite these challenges, the airline has seen a 4.8% increase in passengers carried and a 20% increase in revenue passenger kilometers for the financial year to date.
