The latest update is out from Air China ( (HK:0753) ).
Air China reported that 2025 marked the successful conclusion of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan period for the carrier, as it focused on operational safety, service improvement and Party-building under the guidance of national policy. The airline achieved 3.01 million safe flight hours while supporting major diplomatic and sporting events and disaster relief missions, reinforcing its role as a strategic central state-owned enterprise.
Operationally, the group pursued a strategy of “seeking progress while maintaining stability,” expanding effective capacity to 367.6 billion available seat kilometres, up 3.24% year on year, and actively managing capacity and pricing amid intensifying “involution-style” competition in key markets. Air China also drove growth in ancillary revenue and cargo, with value-added product sales rising more than 40% and bellyhold operating revenue up 4.92%, while tightening cost controls in areas such as jet fuel and airport charges to improve efficiency and support its ambition to be a world-leading airline.
