An update from AEON Co ( (JP:8267) ) is now available.

AEON Co. reported that its major retail formats delivered generally resilient March sales, supported by a series of campaigns tied to the group’s 100th anniversary and heightened value offerings under the TOPVALU brand. The initiatives targeted price-sensitive consumers hit by rising energy costs and included larger-size and anniversary-priced goods, as well as affordable apparel and products for graduation, school entry and new life stages.

In the General Merchandise Store segment, AEON Retail’s 100th Anniversary Sales Campaign and the “AEON Super! Spring Value Festival” drove three consecutive months of same-store sales growth, with strong performance in groceries, fresh foods, health and beauty, and home furnishings despite a tough comparison in rice. AEON also opened the Tsudanuma South complex in partnership with Keisei Electric Railway and four additional stores, while in the Supermarket Business it launched reorganized AEON Food Style in Kanto and a renewed Daiei format in Kinki from March 1, plus a new urban-focused Food Style Mita store, underscoring a strategic push to refresh formats and capture urban demand.
