ABx Group Limited has announced a breakthrough in their ALCORE technology, with their bath pilot batch reactor now achieving a remarkable 93% recovery of fluorine from aluminium smelter waste. This success surpasses previous results and bolsters confidence in the commercial viability of the process, which aims to produce high-value aluminium fluoride for aluminium smelting, a chemical currently fully imported. The next steps include refining the design of the continuous pilot plant reactor to further improve the process.
