Aberdeen Group ( (GB:ABDN) ) just unveiled an update.

Aberdeen Group plc has announced interim governance changes as it continues its search for a permanent successor to Chair Sir Douglas Flint, who will step down as Chair and Director following the board meeting on 28 April 2026. Senior Independent Director Jonathan Asquith will assume the role of Chair and Chair of the Nomination and Governance Committee on an interim basis, subject to regulatory approval.

During this transition period, Non-Executive Director Hannah Grove will become Chair of the Remuneration Committee, while Non-Executive Director John Devine will take over as Senior Independent Director and rejoin the Nomination and Governance Committee. Asquith will relinquish his position on the Audit and Risk Committee and will receive a prorated annual chair fee of £475,000, aligning with the company’s existing remuneration policy.

Both Flint and Asquith highlighted the progress made in simplifying Aberdeen’s structure and executing its strategy to become the UK’s leading wealth and investments group, emphasizing continuity in the company’s growth plans despite the leadership change. The Financial Conduct Authority has been notified of the key appointments, which remain subject to regulatory approval, underscoring the formal regulatory oversight of the company’s board transition.

The score is driven primarily by improving financial fundamentals (profit and free-cash-flow recovery alongside low and declining leverage) and very attractive valuation (low P/E and high dividend yield). These positives are tempered by weak technical momentum and earnings-call risks around Adviser profitability, margin pressure, and near-term expected outflows despite reiterated 2026 targets.
