22nd Century Board Adopts New Compensation Strategy

22nd Century (XXII) has released an update.

The Board of Directors at 22nd Century Group, Inc. has decided to forego their cash compensation for the latter part of 2023 and early 2024, also opting for reduced pay for the rest of the year. Each non-employee independent director will now receive a base annual cash retainer of $20,000, with additional retainers for various committee chairs and members. No equity compensation will be granted to directors in 2024. This financial adjustment was announced in a press release by the company.
