CD Projekt (OTGLY) stock was up on Monday despite disappointing news for fans of the video game developer’s works. Michał Nowakowski, co-CEO of CD Projekt, said the company doesn’t plan to release The Witcher 4 in 2026. He also refused to provide a release window for the game or reveal any technical details about it. Instead, he noted that there’s “nothing out of the ordinary” happening with its development.

What was revealed by Nowakowski was a timeframe for the release of The Witcher 4 and its two sequels. According to the CD Projekt CEO, the company intends to release this new trilogy of games within six years of the first game’s release. This means that once The Witcher 4 is released, it might only be three years before the release of The Witcher 5, and another three-year wait for The Witcher 6.
Fans of The Witcher series have been waiting for the release of The Witcher 4 ever since The Witcher 3 released in 2015. CD Projekt first announced the sequel in March 2022, and a trailer for the game was shown off at The Game Awards in December 2024.
