MARA Holdings shares climbed after its U.S. unit struck a major power infrastructure deal that investors see as a bet on long‑term growth in AI and high‑performance computing. On April 29, 2026, MARA USA agreed to acquire Long Ridge Energy & Power for about $1.5 billion including debt, a move that significantly expands its energy footprint.

The purchase adds a combined‑cycle gas plant, more than 1,600 acres of land, rail access and a digital campus, boosting MARA’s owned power capacity by roughly 65%. The company says the site could host a flagship AI and HPC campus of up to 600 MW, with Barclays providing around $785 million in bridge financing to support the transaction.
