Blue Owl Capital’s stock came under pressure after the company reported credit markdowns that pushed its net asset value down to $14.81, tempering investor confidence. The update also highlighted a sizable stock buyback of about $148 million, which, while supportive, was not enough to offset concerns around asset quality.
Looking ahead, Blue Owl BDCs agreed to sell $1.4 billion of direct-lending assets at 99.7% of par, with settlement expected in the first quarter of 2026, including $400 million from OBDC. Management says the deal should lower leverage and free up fresh capacity to invest, potentially improving the balance sheet and supporting future valuations.
