Sometimes, the simplest things just work out for the best. Just ask entertainment giant Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) when it partnered with Mahindra to build a new electric SUV inspired by the Batmobile. Here I refer to the new Batmobile, not the stretch version of the Michael Keaton era or the dual-bubble of the Adam West era. But investors seemed reasonably all right with this, and sent shares up fractionally in the closing minutes of Thursday’s trading.

The vehicle is known as the BE 6 Batman Edition, a “limited-run electric origin SUV.” There will be 300 units available of these once they are ready, reports note, and they will start delivering on September 20, which is International Batman Day. The vehicle will be painted in a “…custom satin black color exclusive to the Batman edition…” and will also boast several other features. There will be a Batman decal on the front doors, a plaque on the dashboard in brushed alchemy gold, and even the engine sounds have been modified to sound like a movie Batmobile.
Mahindra & Mahindra chief design and creative officer for auto and farm sector Pratap Bose noted, “The BE 6 has always been about boldness and forward thinking. With the Batman edition, we wanted to go further – to create something so personal, so visually arresting, that owning it feels like owning a piece of cinematic history. We’ve obsessed over even the smallest detail, so that every time you look at it, you discover something new.”
