Interestingly, the move fits into Singapore’s plans to strengthen its AI and tech growth. It also comes after Mistral AI signed a major deal to buy more chips from Nvidia (NVDA) for its new data center in other regions.

Singtel Expands AI Cloud with Mistral’s Support

The new deal connects Singtel’s RE:AI cloud platform with Mistral AI’s tools to support safer AI use in certain industries. The focus is on areas where data center safety is critical, like state work, banks, and healthcare systems.

At the same time, new data centers in Singapore, Johor in Malaysia, and Batam in Indonesia will be used to process all AI workloads. These sites are linked by sea cables to keep the system performance stable and strong. The setup is also meant to support large-scale AI use across the region.

On the tech side, Mistral AI will offer open-source AI models and technical skills, while Singtel will bring its strong network setup and secure cloud base. Together, the two companies aim to speed up AI adoption across the public and private sectors in Singapore.

Singtel and Mistral Build Enterprise AI Hub

Singtel’s latest move also includes the launch of a joint tech hub called the Applied AI Center of Excellence. The hub was created with Mistral and other partners and will focus on boosting real-world AI adoption, especially in sectors that require robust data security.

The center will also help build safe AI tools that run within Singtel’s RE:AI cloud system. Some of these include chatbots, network support systems, and data automation tools. These devices will be tested first within Singapore operations before they are released for wider use. Early use will focus on improving response times and fixing network issues more quickly. Over time, the goal is to expand these solutions across industries worldwide.
