On Friday, the company, which is backed by tech giants such as Amazon (AMZN) and Alphabet (GOOGL), disclosed that it has teamed up with Allianz “to accelerate the adoption of responsible artificial intelligence” at the insurance company.

The deal adds Allianz to Anthropic’s prior partnerships with Snowflake (SNOW), Accenture (ACN), Palantir (PLTR), and Amazon Web Services. The startup also recently secured a combined investment commitment of up to $15 billion from Microsoft (MSFT) and Nvidia ($NVDA) that involves Microsoft’s Azure cloud services.

Anthropic-Allianz Alliance to Improve Insurance AI

As part of Anthropic’s new partnership with Allianz, employees at the insurance company will adopt Anthropic’s Claude AI models even as both firms work together to build custom AI agents. These agents will automate Allianz’s labor-intensive activities at scale, from document intake to insurance claims processing.

In addition, the two firms are working together to develop AI systems tailored for compliance with the insurance industry’s regulatory requirements. “With this partnership, Allianz is taking a decisive step to address critical AI challenges in insurance,” noted Oliver Bäte, Allianz’s chief executive.

Anthropic Eyes the Health Industry

Meanwhile, the new collaboration also comes as Anthropic plans to showcase the capacity of its Claude model for the healthcare and life sciences industries. This is even as rival OpenAI has rolled out a new feature called ChatGPT Health. Microsoft has also made recent moves in this space.

Anthropic remains focused on expanding its financial base and is reportedly planning to raise about $10 billion in new funding at a valuation of about $350 billion. The startup is expected to go public this year.
