Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) stock was up on Tuesday alongside reports of a new method the semiconductor company has for selling its CPUs. Tom’s Hardware spotted a social media post from China that showed AMD’s new Ryzen 7 9850X3D CPU bundled with V-Color RAM, and a Cooler Master cooler. The bundle appears to be an official collaboration between AMD, V-Color, and Cooler Master, though it’s unclear if it will be released outside of China.

What’s most interesting about this is the decision to include RAM in this CPU bundle. RAM prices have skyrocketed due to the increased demand for artificial intelligence (AI), which has likewise increased demand for server components, RAM included. A bundle that includes both CPU and RAM could appeal to customers who want to build or upgrade a PC but are struggling to find RAM for a decent price.
The finer details of this Ryzen 7 9850X3D CPU bundle are unclear, including the specs of the included RAM. However, it’s likely that V-Color has included DDR5-4800 memory, which is the slowest speed available. Even so, AMD has highlighted the fact that the Ryzen 7 9850X3D CPU doesn’t need fast RAM, with only about a 1% difference between DDR5-4800 and DDR5-6000 kits.
AMD Stock Movement Today
AMD stock was up 1.04% on Tuesday, building on a 17.97% rally year-to-date. The stock has also gained 120.12% over the past 12 months. AMD’s stock growth is largely tied to the increased demand for AI, which has increased demand for AMD’s server CPUs and graphics processing units (GPUs).

Is AMD Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold?
Turning to Wall Street, the analysts’ consensus rating for AMD is Strong Buy, based on 25 Buy and eight Hold ratings over the past three months. With that comes an average AMD stock price target of $286.66, representing a potential 12.97% upside for the shares.
