Retail giant Amazon (AMZN) said on Tuesday that it plans to shut down its Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go brick-and-mortar grocery stores. In a blog post, the company said that the decision was made after it conducted a review of how it can best serve customers going forward. As part of the change, Amazon will close those stores and convert some locations into Whole Foods Market stores. While the move was described as difficult, Amazon framed it as a necessary reset.
