According to Amazon’s (AMZN) recent 13F filing, the tech giant holds 822,234 shares of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), worth over $84 million. The stake is linked to AMD’s acquisition of ZT Systems, a major AI and cloud computing infrastructure provider, as indicated by a recent SEC filing by AMD. The deal was closed on March 31, 2025.

In addition to Amazon, another major recipient of AMD shares in connection with the ZT Systems acquisition is Inventec. In total, more than 8.3 million AMD shares were allocated to ZT Systems’ former shareholders as part of the $4.9 billion deal.
It must be noted that the investment was disclosed the same day AMD reported its strong Q1 2025 results. AMD’s Q1 revenue of $7.44 billion beat analyst estimates of $7.13 billion. Also, the company’s Data Center segment surged 57% year-over-year.
