With Wall Street Turning Bullish on Nvidia Stock (NVDA), Let’s Look at Who Owns It

Nvidia (NVDA) remains at the center of the AI trade and keeps making headlines. NVDA shares are up about 35% this year, with the stock rising 4% on Friday to $180.99 after U.S. regulators cleared Nvidia’s planned $5 billion investment in Intel (INTC). The move gives Nvidia more manufacturing flexibility at a time when demand for AI chips continues to run hot.

Wall Street sentiment also remains firmly supportive. Top Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon reiterated a Buy rating on Friday, saying clearly, “We would be buyers here,” arguing the stock looks unusually cheap at current levels. Nvidia now carries a Strong Buy consensus, with analysts seeing roughly 44% upside from here as earnings forecasts keep moving higher. Given these tailwinds, it’s a good time to see who owns shares of NVDA.

Now, according to TipRanks’ Ownership Tool, public companies and individual investors own 42.27% of Nvidia. They are followed by ETFs, mutual funds, other institutional investors, and insiders at 21.69%, 19.85%, 12.31%, and 3.88%, respectively. 

Digging Deeper into NVDA’s Ownership Structure

Looking closely at the top shareholders, Vanguard owns the highest stake in Nvidia at 7.78%, followed by Vanguard Index Funds with a 6.49% holding.

Among the top ETF holders, the Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) holds a 2.98% stake in NVDA, while the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) owns 2.51%.

Moving to mutual funds, Vanguard Index Funds holds about 6.49% of Nvidia. Meanwhile, Fidelity Concord Street Trust owns 1.76% of the company.

Is Nvidia a Buy Now?  

According to TipRanks, NVDA stock has a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 40 Buys, one Hold, and one Sell assigned in the last three months. At $260.00, the Nvidia average share price target implies a 43.65% upside potential.
