XRP (XRP-USD) is caught in a battle between good company news and a tough market today, February 3, 2026. While the coin is struggling to stay near $1.56, it is trying to shake off a rough weekend that saw billions of dollars in trades wiped out across the crypto world. This price drop pushed XRP toward its lowest levels since last October, making many traders nervous. However, behind the scenes, Ripple Labs is still growing, recently hitting a major goal that could help the coin in the long run.

Ripple Wins Big License in Europe
On Monday, Ripple received a full license to operate as an Electronic Money Institution in Luxembourg. This is a huge deal because it gives the company a “passport” to offer its payment services in all 27 countries of the European Union. Managing Director Cassie Craddock called this a major milestone for the company. It means Ripple can now work more easily with European banks and businesses to move money across borders faster using its blockchain tech.
XRP Holders Fight to Keep Prices Up
Even with the good news from Europe, the price of XRP is in a tricky spot. Traders are watching the $1.50 level very closely because it has acted like a floor for the price in the past. If the price falls below this mark, experts warn it could quickly slide down toward $1.25 or even lower. A big reason for this pressure is that there aren’t many surprises left to push the price higher right now, the big SEC court case is over, and the new XRP ETFs have already launched.
Big Investors Are Still Buying
While regular traders seem to be stepping back, big institutional investors are still putting money into the market. On Friday, XRP ETFs saw over $9 million in new money coming in. This shows that while the average person might be worried about the daily price swings, large funds are using these lower prices to stock up. At the same time, activity on the actual XRP network has slowed down a bit, suggesting that people are waiting to see what happens next before making big moves.
At the time of writing, XRP is sitting at $1.61.
