Digital payments stock Visa (V) is set to release its second-quarter 2025 earnings on April 29. Visa stock has gained over 6% year-to-date, primarily due to strong quarterly earnings, solid growth in digital and cross-border payments, and continued investor confidence in its long-term outlook. Wall Street analysts expect the company to post earnings of $2.68 per share, up 6.8% from the year-ago quarter.
Meanwhile, revenues are expected to increase by 9% from the year-ago quarter to $9.55 billion, according to data from the TipRanks Forecast page. It’s important to highlight that Visa has beaten earnings estimates for nine straight quarters.

Analysts’ Views Ahead of Visa’s Q2 Earnings
Ahead of Visa’s earnings, TD Cowen analyst Bryan Bergin reduced his price target to $370 from $382 but maintained a Buy rating. The analyst expects Visa to deliver Q2 results that will meet or slightly beat Wall Street expectations. While the March quarter is likely to reflect stable payment volumes, Bergin pointed out that the outlook for consumer spending has become “murkier.”
In his view, Visa is better positioned than its peers, such as Mastercard (MA), at the moment. This is largely due to Visa’s greater reliance on debit over credit transactions and its stronger presence in the U.S. market compared to international regions. According to Main Street Data, revenues from international transactions were $13.1 billion in 2024, up 10% year-over-year.

Bergin also highlighted that Visa’s prompt cost-cutting initiatives give it more flexibility to protect earnings. That said, Bergin warned that growth could slow in the second half of the year.
