The Trump administration is shelving the U.S. Navy’s F/A-XX futuristic fighter in favor of the F-47, the Air Force counterpart, amid concerns U.S. defense contractors can’t handle both, Colin Demarest of Axios reports. The project has been in limbo for months, according to the report. Boeing (BA) and Northrop Grumman (NOC) have been in the running for F/A-XX, with the former besting Lockheed Martin (LMT) in March for the multibillion-dollar F-47 contract, via the Next Generation Air Dominance effort.
