SoftBank plans to lay off nearly 20% of its Vvision Fund team worldwide as it shifts resources to founder Masayoshi Son’s major AI bets in the U.S., Reuters’ Krystal Hu reports, citing a memo and a source familiar with the plan. The job cuts mark the third round of workforce reductions at the conglomerate’s flagship fund since 2022, the author says, noting that Vision Fund currently employs 44 staff.
