SoftBank is seeking a bridge loan of as much as $16.5B to help fund AI investments in the U.S., its largest-ever borrowing denominated solely in dollars, Bloomberg’s Kari Soo Lindberg and Min Jeong Lee report. According to sources, the loan would help finance a $500B AI infrastructure project in the U.S., as well as a $40B funding round in OpenAI, valuing the ChatGPT creator at $300B.
