Smartmatic and Fox News have both asked a New York judge to rule in their favor in a $2.7B defamation case dealing with the vote-rigging claims broadcast by Fox during the 2020 U.S. presidential election, Katie Robertson of The New York Times reports. Justice David Cohen heard arguments from both companies and is expected to issue a ruling in the coming weeks on whether the case will proceed to trial before a jury.
