Shell (SHEL) and Exxon Mobil (XOM) have halted the intended sale of natural gas assets in Britain’s Southern North Sea to Viaro Energy, Reuters reports. The parties had agreed to the sale in July 2024, but commercial and market conditions evolved and conditions necessary to complete the deal were not met. Despite being fully funded, both sides agreed to not proceed with the sale.
