Operated by the GEO Group (GEO), one of the nation’s largest private prison companies, the facility holds up to 1,000 migrants under a contract with the Trump administration. The incident follows a previous clash outside the center last month, which resulted in the Justice Department charging New Jersey Democratic Representative LaMonica McIver with assault.
