Oil prices rose in response, with Brent crude hovering near $78 and WTI near $74, though both pulled back slightly after initial spikes. Energy and defense stocks are leading early gains.

Economic data due include flash PMIs for manufacturing and services, which may influence market expectations around Fed policy. Treasury yields remain steady around 4.4% on the 10-year. Broader sentiment remains cautiously bullish, with major indexes near all-time highs and some strategists forecasting further gains into year-end.
In pre-market trading near 9 am ET, S&P 500 futures rose 0.12%, Nasdaq futures gained 0.16% and Dow futures advanced 0.05%.

- Northern Trust (NTRS) up 6% after The Wall Street Journal reported Bank of New York Mellon (BK) approached the company to express interest in merging
- Fiserv (FI) up 5% after announcing plans to launch a new Fiserv digital asset platform, including a new stablecoin that will be added to Fiserv’s existing banking and payments infrastructure by the end of the year
- DoorDash (DASH) up 2% after Raymond James upgraded shares to Strong Buy from Outperform with a price target of $260, up from $215
- Tesla (TSLA) up 1% after rolling out its robotaxi service to some users in Austin

- Hims & Hers (HIMS) and Novo Nordisk (NVO) down 25% and 7%, respectively, after Novo Nordisk announced that the company will no longer be working with Hims & Hers and that direct access to Wegovy will no longer be available to Hims & Hers Health via NovoCare Pharmacy
- AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) down 3% after Scotiabank downgraded the stock to Sector Perform with an unchanged price target of $45.40
- Dow Inc. (DOW) down 1% after BMO Capital downgraded shares to Underperform with a price target of $22, down from $29
