Piper Sandler raised the firm’s price target on Investar Holding (ISTR) to $27 from $22 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares. The firm says the acquisition of Wichita Falls Bancshares by Investar is expected to result in TBV dilution of about 11.8% including the associated capital raise, a level management views as acceptable given the strategic benefits and about 2.9 year earn back. The deal is projected to be highly accretive to earnings, with estimated EPS accretion of 35%-36% post-integration, driven by cost savings, funding cost improvements, and the benefits of scale.
