Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr says the FCC is prepared to block mergers and acquisition proposals from companies that promote “invidious” DEI policies, specifically mentioning Paramount Global’s (PARA) merger with Skydance Media and Verizon Communications’ (VZ) acquisition of Frontier Communications (FYBR), reported Bloomberg’s Jeff Green and Kelcee Griffis. “Any businesses that are looking for FCC approval, I would encourage them to get busy ending any sort of their invidious forms of DEI discrimination,” Carr is quoted as having said in an interview Friday.
