Citi believes there could be several synergies should Amazon.com (AMZN) succeed in its bid to acquire TikTok U.S. TikTok Shop, which generated ~$9B of U.S. gross merchandise volume in 2024, and TikTok’s strength across influencers could accelerate Amazon’s product discovery efforts, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm also sees multiple advertising benefits given TikTok’s 170M U.S. monthly active users who spend 70-plus minutes per day on the site. Citi recommends taking advantage of the post-tariff weakness in Amazon shares. The company is among the best positioned to benefit from long-term secular trends, Citi contends. It keeps a Buy rating on the shares with a $273 price target
