Citi analyst Christopher Danely calls the rally today in shares of AMD (AMD) “empty calories.” The company’s added sales from the chip ban being lifted in China are not sustainable as they could be banned again, the analyst tells investors in a research note. However, the firm views the Trump administration’s announced $70B investment in Pennsylvania for energy and data center as positive for AMD, Broadcom (AVGO), Micron (MU) and Nvidia (NVDA).
